9 April 2024

“I’ve recently moved areas and I’m looking for a dentist in Cheltenham so that I can attend dental appointments near me. Where abouts is Cheltenham and Cotswold Dental, and where can I park?”

“I don’t have any problems with my teeth, but I’m looking for a practice to have dental check ups near me. Can I come to Cheltenham and Cotswold Dental for just a check up?”
Yes of course. At Cheltenham and Cotswold Dental your dentist will conduct a comprehensive consultation to include oral cancer screening, examination of your teeth and gums, and radiographs where appropriate. Your oral condition will be described and explained, and any recommended treatment options presented. Whilst we would love to see you for your ongoing care, there is no obligation to proceed with any proposed treatment plans.

“I usually just see a dentist when I have an emergency. Why are regular dental check ups so important?”

1. Maintaining a healthy mouth
Early detection of dental problems including cavities, gum disease and oral cancer, means that problems can be treated and managed before they become painful, complicated, or even serious.

2. Maintaining overall health
Dental diseases such as gum disease are linked to medical conditions including diabetes and heart disease. Through maintaining optimal oral health, we may reduce our risk of developing medical problems.

3. Preventing dental problems
Your dentist and hygienist will offer bespoke advice regarding oral hygiene, diet, and other preventive factors, to reduce your risk of developing decay, gum disease and oral cancer.

4. Achieving confidence in your smile
Professional cleaning, tooth whitening, orthodontics and cosmetic treatments are options which can be explored at dental examination appointments to ensure you are confident to smile.

“How often should I have a dental check up?”
Your dentist will recommend how often you should attend dental check up appointments based upon your current oral condition, and your risk of developing dental problems such as decay, gum disease and oral cancer. Commonly patients are recommended to attend between 3 and 12 monthly.

“How much is a is a check up appointment for adults?”
Your initial consultation appointment at Cheltenham and Cotswold Dental is £102.00. Thereafter regular examination appointments are £56.50. We also offer Denplan, which reduces and spreads the cost of your dental check up and hygienist appointments over the year.
