THE PRACTICE HAS A REGISTERED SPECIALIST PERIODONTIST, JOEL THOMAS, WHO IS ABLE TO CARRY OUT A RANGE OF TREATMENTS.

This may involve the management of patients with advanced gum disease (periodontal disease), patients with a family history of gum disease or patients with loose teeth. Our specialist periodontists come with a wealth of experience and can also carry out soft tissue regeneration procedures where the gum has receded. Free gingival grafts and connective tissue grafts allow for the gum recession to be reversed.

What is a periodontist?

A periodontist has specific skills in the treatment of periodontal gum disease and all the architecture that involves the gums and bone in the mouth.

Is treatment painful?

During treatment, you will be given a local anaesthetic to ensure you are not in any pain.

What treatment would they do?

The main treatment we manage would be those patients that present with extensive gum disease that have loose teeth which are falling out. In combination with our hygiene team, they will construct a tailored oral hygiene plan for you to carry out at home. In addition, they will identify areas that need their intervention to stabilise the condition. This will involve reducing the level of inflammation and the level of bacteria.
