Dermal fillers are long lasting, with results often visible for 6 to 18 months, depending on the area treated and the thickness of the filler used. Regular maintenance appointments can help you keep your desired look consistent over time.
The goal of modern facial aesthetics is to enhance your natural features, not completely change them. When performed by our skilled practitioners, treatments will make you look like a well-rested version of yourself. Fillers are used to support your existing bone structure and the best results are the ones where people notice you look great but can’t quite put their finger on why.
Dermal fillers provide an immediate lift and volume boost the moment they are injected.
One of the reasons these treatments are so popular is that they fit easily into a busy lifestyle. Most patients return to their normal daily activities immediately after leaving the clinic. While you might experience some minor redness, mild swelling, or tenderness at the injection sites, this is normal and typically settles within a few days. Treated areas may feel firm or uneven for a short period, but this usually resolves as the product integrates. Final results typically settle in between 7 and 14 days. We generally advise avoiding heavy exercise, saunas, or lying flat for about 24 hours to ensure the product stays exactly where it’s meant to be.
To help your results settle beautifully, there are a few simple steps you can take at home. For the first 24 hours, keep the treated area clean and stay well-hydrated. If you notice any mild swelling, applying a cool compress wrapped in a clean cloth intermittently can be very soothing, as can sleeping with your head slightly elevated on the first night.
To ensure your treatment settles perfectly and gives you the best possible results, it’s important to give the area some rest for the first 12 to 24 hours by avoiding makeup and refraining from touching, rubbing, or massaging the skin. For the first day or two, avoid vigorous exercise, stay away from alcohol, and avoid hot environments like saunas or steam rooms, as these can increase blood flow to the face. Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Ginkgo Biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids for at least one week after treatment. As well as avoiding the use of Retinol or similar products for two days after treatment.
Looking further ahead, we recommend waiting a full two weeks before professional facial massages, or other skin treatments. Finally, protecting your skin from direct sun exposure or sunbeds for those first 14 days will help maintain your fresh new look and keep your skin healthy.
